THE NUBUCKCUIR'S FILOSOPHY
The Nubuckcuir atelier was born at the end of 2013, after participating in the 080 BCN FASHION WEEK presenting the first Mineral collection, interest in Nubuckcuir leather designs increases internationally and 100% is committed to online sales.
From the Generalitat de Catalunya, in 2016 they granted me the professional artisan card, in the field of manufacturing, leather goods. Together with the D'Aque Distinctive, it certifies that all leather accessories are of Catalan and artisan origin. Produced one by one by me in my workshop in an artisanal way with quality leather.
Nubuckcuir, is a slow leather accessories project, where each piece is created entirely in my small and isolated atelier, with wonderful views of Montserrat. It is there where the design is born and I create all my collections.

THE VALUES OF Nubuckuir
For Nubuckcuir the connection with nature, respect for the land and the rural world are essential.
In a permanent search for a balance between fashion and sustainability, I create exclusive, timeless, versatile, simple, light, functional-comfortable leather bags and backpacks. They are designed to be used daily and have a long life.
The designs are efficient, they are produced by hand and every detail is important because I choose the best quality materials from local producers.
A hallmark of Nubuckcuir is the value for the ancestors, for the tradition, the craftsmanship for maintaining and claiming the craft of leather goods creating unique leather accessories, designed with a purpose and with the required time, one by one manually. no hurry...
Also promote the circular economy, making the most of our nearby resources, avoiding saturation of the planet and generating wealth in our territory.

THE LEATHER
At the age of 32 I had my first contact with leather, I immediately connected with it knowing that it would allow me to fulfill myself on a creative level. Leather allows me to balance the idea, the creation and the object. Being able to transform material into functional bags and backpacks fascinates me. Being able to do it autonomously without the need to outsource processes is magical. The noble characteristics of leather allow me to go back to the origins and connect with the essence and tradition.
Leather is a very noble material, only its origin deserves great respect. Absolutely all the leather that I use is considered a by-product or residue of the meat industry. I work with trusted and family tanneries in my city, which accumulate years of experience where they work with bovine leather with a long tradition and prestige all over the world.
I consider leather a unique material, each piece is different as the animal's skin was, size, texture, elasticity, pigmentation ... No two bags will ever come out the same. I consider each impurity or imperfection marks of identity, they are testimonies of a life: freckles, scars, stretch marks ...

THE PROCESS FROM IDEA TO THE BAG

From an idea, I outline a design and create a prototype, this first phase can take several redesign tests to find the final design. Once the idea is defined, the pattern-making phase arrives, very important to later be very efficient when it comes to production.
The production is very dynamic, table tasks are alternated such as: marking, cutting, preparing the pockets, zipper, riveting ... with the sewing part on the machine. Depending on each model, you estimate more or less hours of work.
I love that customers find their perfect complement, if no piece of the collection fits them, I offer the possibility of personalizing each model creating a special and unique piece.
